Do I get free xbox live when I purchase an xbox 360 arcade?

I just got the xbox 360 arcade and I was wondring do I get free xbox live? If yes what or how do I get it? Thank you
The xbox 360 arcade says xbox live is free, on the back of the box.

u have to buy a console that has 20 gb+ or the box itself saying that it comes with free xbox live
