Do I need a Playstation memory card to play a Playstation game on my PS2?
I recently bought Metal Gear Solid for Playstation. Near the beginning of the game, it asked me to save to a memory card. I was confused because my PS2 memory card was already in slot 1. Do I need a PS memory card for Metal Gear Solid?
Yup, PS1 cards for PS1 games. It will be saved in the exact same manner as a PS1 would, that is, the 15-block method instead of the PS2’s 8 MB method.
Interesting tidbit you might not know, if you have other Konami games on your card, during one of the other boss fights in MGS, the game will actually read the card and the boss will mess with you during the fight by telling you things about those games.
